LAKSHMI AARTI.

Jai lakshmi maataa, Maiyaa jaya lakshmi maataaTumako nishadina dhyaavata, Hara vishnu vidhaataa
Glory to you, O Mother, glory to you, mother Lakshmi. Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma meditate on you everyday and night.
Brahmaanii, rudraanii, kamalaa, Tuuhii hai jaga maataaSuurya chandramaa dhyaavata, Naarada rishi gaataa
You are the wife of Brahma, Rudra and Vishnu and the mother of the world. The sage Narada sings your praises and the Sun and the Moon meditate on you.
Durgaa ruupa nirantara, sukha sampati daataaJo koi tumako dhyaavata, riddhi siddhi dhana paataaAs Durga, you grant both happiness and prosperity; he who worships you recieves prosperity and accomplishment
Tuuhii hai paataala basantii, Tuuhii shubha daataaKarma prabhaava prakaashaka, Jaganidhi ke traataa
Only you live in the nether regions of the earth and you alone ensure good luck, bring to light the effect of Karma (action) and protect all worldly treasures.
Jisa ghara mein tuma rahatii, saba sadaguna aataaKara sake koii kara le, mana nahin ghabaraataaAll the virtues collect themselves where you have your house; with your grace and favour even the impossible becomes possible without causing any nervous agitation.
Tuma bina yagya na hove, Vastra na koii paataaKhaana paana kaa vaibhava, Saba tumase hii aataaNo sacrifice can be performed without your blessing, no one can obtain any clothes without you; it is from you that one obtains one’s food and drink.
Shubha guna mandira sundara, Kshirodadhi jaataaRatana chaturdasha tuma hii, Koii nahiin paataa
O daughter of the Ocean of Milk and the temple of all virtues, you are endowed with all the fourteen gems which no one else has.
Aartii lakshmii jii kii, Jo koii nara gaataaUra aananda umanga ati, Paapa utara jaataaWhosoever sings this prayer to Lakshmi is purged of his sins and experiences the ecstasy of joy. DURGA MAA SLOKAS.
Durga Puja is traditionally performed in Bengal and other parts of Eastern India during Dussehra or VijayaDasami.
She is Mother Goddess, Shakti (or the divine force) and an incarnation of Parvati, Shiva’s wife. She was manifested to kill Mahishasura, a powerful demon who could not be defeated by man or God. Only a woman could kill him. The victory of Durga over Mahishasura (good over evil) is celebrated on VijayaDasami.

Explanation:
Goddess Parvati is the consort of Lord Siva and is worshipped as Sakti. The Puranic literature describes her as having many forms, including Durga, Candi, Kali and Uma.While Siva symbolizes the efficient cause of the creation, Sakti symbolizes the material cause.
Translation:
The one who is the auspiciousness of all that is auspicious (sarvamangalamangalye), the consort of Siva (Sive), who is the means of accomplishing all desires sarvarthasadhake), who is the refuge of all (saranye), the three eyed one(tryambake),the fair complexioned one(Gouri), Salutations to you, Narayani(narayani namostute). Salutations to the consort of Sri Narayana (Sri Lakshmi Devi), who is all auspicisous, who is the Mastress of all, who blesses devotees succeed in their efforts and who is the refuge of all.
